Euforia Project - European Community for Iter Applications

Parallel FFT Workshop

Thursday 05 February 2009

Fast Fourier Transformations (FFT) are an extremely valuable tool for today numerical scientists. However they are often the key bottle neck of the application when one tries to use a very large number of processors. We will discuss key parallelisation strategies for parallel FFTs and will show how they perform across a range of HPC platforms. We will discuss how the placement of the task onto the machine and the dimensions of the chosen processor grid can affect the performance of the FFT.

[S-JR]A[1-3] Meeting

From Wednesday 14 January to Friday 16 January 2009 at Madrid.

2nd General Meeting

From 1 to 3 December at Barcelona.

HPC Hardware and Software Workshop

Thursday 27 November 2008

Overview of JRA2 Activities.

3rd Tutorial

Euforia held its third training event from 15 to 18 September at Portici.

2nd Tutorial for Users

EUFORIA held its second training event from 31 July to 1 August 2008 at Culham.

1st Tutorial for Users

EUFORIA held its first training event on the 26th - 28th of March at EPCC's training facility in Edinburgh. The 3-day course, Message Passing Programming and the MPI library, is designed to give scientists and users a broad understanding of the Message Passing programming model commonly used to run applications on large supercomputers.

Kick-off Meeting

From 21 January 2008, to Thursday 24 January 2008 at Göteborg, Sweden
